Short post this week due to the fact that, well, due to the fact that I have just been lazy. It happens lol.
So the resolution thing started out okay for me this year but now they have started getting a bit overlooked so I figured I would ask everyone how they get back on track when whatever they are trying to achieve proves harder than first expected. Let me know in the comments how you get back on track when things get you off course. Now a quote that really hits home this week
Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body. – Seneca
So yesterday I posted about New Year's resolutions or as I called them... conveniently timed goals. Now I was thinking about goals and how sometimes we go overboard with them. What i mean by that is we set goals that are too vague (I'm gonna do... something) or, more often than not, too big (I am going to lose a hundred pounds this month). Then we feel as if we need to make huge changes in our lives to attain them. Not necessarily.
How many times have we heard that life is a journey? Consider what it is that makes the most change to the journeys we take. The rudder, steering wheel, flaps, etc. right? Now if we compare the size of these guiding mechanisms to what they steer we see that great changes are brought about by small movements and corrections in the right directions. That is how we should approach our the changes that we want to see in our lives. Small corrections in what we eat, for instance, will bring great results over time. The same goes for exercise or education or, well, just about anything. Remember that every journey hits bumps, goes off course, or simply breaks down. When it does don't abandon the vehicle, so to speak, find out what needs repairs then make the small adjustments to get back on track. Ultimately it is up to you to make the right choices to get where you are supposed to be...or not (because that is a choice as well). As I write this I realize I may be very tired tomorrow at work but I also realize it is my CHOICE (that damn word again) to stay up and write this. That being said, I am choosing to end this with well wishes to everyone for 2013.
