Love you, mom.
Just the musing, rants, and ramblings of a freezer beast. There may even be a thought or two thrown in.

Introspective Isolationist
You ever notice how sometimes we all feel like a soda that has been shaken too much? Doesn't matter if it is anger or sadness or just crap better left unsaid, something is bubbling up and refuses to be contained. It seems that, lately, a lot of that is going around. For me it is a lot of anger, mostly about money issues (I can hear the "amen"s and "preach on, brother"s on that one lol) but there are other things going on as well.
When you are young and mostly single these things aren't much of an issue. You break something or whatever and feel better. But as you get more "mature", i.e. older, buying your own stuff, married, have kids (any or all of those), you have examples to set. You have to be calm and rational in your discussions. No punching walls, cutting yourself, yelling or screaming at your significant other, etc. For some people that is no issue at all.....but for others (me) that is no small task.
What people that want to keep shaking the" soda bottle of rage" don't realize is that they aren't helping. Not everyone processes there issues the same way, for some it is all about being close to loved ones. For others, we need time to be isolated. We need time to dig into the really dark parts of our psyche. We have to get all the stuff that is buried deep and adding to all the anger and deal with it on our own. We need to be able to cuss, scream, pace, call ourselves (and everyone else) names that the kiddies don't need to hear, especially in the combinations I come up with, and even curl up in a ball and weep, not cry but weep.
After we go through all that, what we "introspective isolationists" need to get through our thick-ass skulls is that we are lucky to have people that would put up with all the stuff in the previous paragraph and do it gladly. So to all the people that have introspective isolationists in their lives I say "Back off"... :) and "Thanks for letting me deal in my own way".
PS
I know "soda bottle of rage" is goofy as heck but sometimes that is simply how I roll :)

Name Change and Fever Dreams
Disclaimer: I have had a fever as high as 103.6 the past couple of days. As I write this it is 102 so please forgive any spelling or rambles.
So as I wandered in and started dusting off the cobwebs of this thing I got to thinking that maybe I should make some changes. So the first thing I changed was the name. I changed the name to A FreezerBeast's Blog because I like the idea of still having a beast mode. Beast mode is very important to everyone, not just athletes. It is that state of mind that says "Screw this, I am going to give my max effort in ______(fill in the blank) and nothing is going to stop me!" For me my beast mode is usually less refined than most.

The thing about it is that when beasts first emerge it is usually less than pretty. A whole lotta growling and smashing. But the good thing about it is that beasts can always evolve and learn if you really work at it.
No matter how beastly you may be, there is always something that can soothe the savage beast somehow and that is important too. Without that you only end up self-destructing (trust me I know lol).
So remember to keep fighting the good fight about whatever it is you want to change in your life. Be it your job, your faith, your health or all of the above and then some. Whatever it is growl and sharpen the claws and just go for it. Remember that you are worth the fight...whether or not it is health, happiness, financial security, stronger relationships, etc.
So what is the point of this post? Well to be honest it was to pass the time while I sweated out this fever and I wanted to see if my low-tech self could figure out how to put pics in here lol. I am going to be pointing my FreezerBeast at my health, fitness, and writing over the next couple of months so this could become a fitness or a writing blog... who knows? What would you un-cage the beast on? What situation might get the beastly treatment (health, relationship, weight loss, max lifts, etc.)? Let me know in the comments.

Resolution blues and a Monday quote
Short post this week due to the fact that, well, due to the fact that I have just been lazy. It happens lol.
So the resolution thing started out okay for me this year but now they have started getting a bit overlooked so I figured I would ask everyone how they get back on track when whatever they are trying to achieve proves harder than first expected. Let me know in the comments how you get back on track when things get you off course. Now a quote that really hits home this week

Goals
So yesterday I posted about New Year's resolutions or as I called them... conveniently timed goals. Now I was thinking about goals and how sometimes we go overboard with them. What i mean by that is we set goals that are too vague (I'm gonna do... something) or, more often than not, too big (I am going to lose a hundred pounds this month). Then we feel as if we need to make huge changes in our lives to attain them. Not necessarily.
How many times have we heard that life is a journey? Consider what it is that makes the most change to the journeys we take. The rudder, steering wheel, flaps, etc. right? Now if we compare the size of these guiding mechanisms to what they steer we see that great changes are brought about by small movements and corrections in the right directions. That is how we should approach our the changes that we want to see in our lives. Small corrections in what we eat, for instance, will bring great results over time. The same goes for exercise or education or, well, just about anything. Remember that every journey hits bumps, goes off course, or simply breaks down. When it does don't abandon the vehicle, so to speak, find out what needs repairs then make the small adjustments to get back on track. Ultimately it is up to you to make the right choices to get where you are supposed to be...or not (because that is a choice as well). As I write this I realize I may be very tired tomorrow at work but I also realize it is my CHOICE (that damn word again) to stay up and write this. That being said, I am choosing to end this with well wishes to everyone for 2013.
